About Us

This was it.  We closed the cab’s door, and the taxi sped off to the JFK airport.  The fact that we pulled off taking almost a year off to travel the world is still surreal to us.  After all, we both had excellent and stable 6-figure jobs during a recession.  Who in the right mind would give that up to spend money to travel with no income?  But yet, in the back of our minds, we knew this was the right decision at the right time.

To travel is to seek to understand and experience something completely different from our normal daily lives.  This requires both physical, mental, and emotional readiness.  The travel-when-you-retire philosophy is simply a delay tactic that makes no sense at all.  Never understood it.  There will simply be too many constraints and uncertainties at that point to fully experience what traveling can offer.  So here we are, doing the craziest thing we have ever done (yet!) in our lives:  taking the leap of faith to walk a different path, a path of our own with a beginning and an end of our own choosing.

Come follow along on our adventure, and we hope our experience will be helpful on your future journeys.

About Danica & David

120 cities, 34 countries, and a combined million airlines miles banked over the past 15 years.  We have traveled the world for business and pleasure — tasted cuisine at one of the top 10 restaurants in the world at an Italian seaside town as well as from the street stalls in Xian; flown on everything from corporate jets to propeller planes with open windows;  slept in a 1000 square foot suite at a Park Hyatt and at a Beduoin tent in the desert with nothing but sand and stars surrounding us.  Nonetheless, with all these experiences, we are certain there is still plenty more for us to explore and discover.  Traveling will always be a part of our lives.  As Mark Twain once famously said, “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
